Each of these machines works in similar ways. They all use the same Nespresso capsules that you love to make delicious coffee, each machine is simplistic and offers one-touch brewing, and each machine has easy maintenance with a removable water tank. Let’s take a look at the individual qualities to see where each coffee machine ends up.

Brew Types: Each coffee machine is able to make 5 different brews. Using the Nespresso capsules, you can brew an espresso (1.35oz), a double espresso (2.7oz), a gran lungo (5oz), a standard coffee (7.7oz), or an alto (14oz).

Because all three of the Nespresso VertuoLine machines use the same type of capsule and the same cup sizes, everything in terms of the brew type is going to be the same. They all use smart technology that reads the label of the capsule you insert into the coffee maker. This means the machine always produces the proper amount of coffee with the right temperature.

Iced Coffee: When it comes to iced coffee, the sky is the limit with any Nespresso VertuoLine coffee machine. The milk frother will work with hot or cold milk, allowing you complete freedom with all your coffee beverages. The machine works the same for iced coffee as it does for hot. All you need to do is add ice to your coffee mug and brew as usual.

Water Tank: The water tank is where things get complicated for the Nespresso VertuoLine coffee makers. Not every machine is created equally. In fact, the standard VertuoLine coffee maker has a water tank that can hold 40 ounces, while VertuoLine Evoluo can hold 53 ounces, making it much handier.

But the VertuoLine Plus has the best water tank of them all. Its water reservoir is still only 40 ounces, but it can be moved to swivel sideways or stay tucked behind the machine. This is the coffee maker that gives you the most out of your water tank.

Capsule Capacity: The capsule capacity is just as complex as the size of the water reservoirs. On the standard VertuoLine coffee machine, it can hold around 10 used capsules. This is the same as the VertuoLine Plus. But the Evoluo coffee maker can hold 17 used capsules! The Evoluo is definitely the better machine.

We’ve not had much room to include the Nespresso original line here, so feel free to come back to our Nespresso Vertuo vs Original review if you are interested in exploring the two.

This is the standard VertuoLine coffee maker. It’s also known as the “Vertuo” for short – and it comes with some seriously impressive features. It’s not as high-tech as the Evoluo, but if you had to vs the Vertuo against the Evoluo, you would be pleasantly surprised to see that the Vertuo actually has a lot going for it. For example, it’s slimmer, lighter, and more affordable than the Nespresso Evoluo.

But there are a lot of other great features too. For example, you get 5 different brew sizes with easy operation. You only need to touch the button once to create your favorite espresso from between just 1.35 ounces to 14 ounces. The Nespresso Evoluo coffee machine is fabulous. If you were to vs it against the other coffee brewers we’re talking about today, it comes out on top every time. The only place it doesn’t win is with its price, as when compared against other similar models it is a little expensive. That said, this thing makes excellent coffee. And it doesn’t stop there! Cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, and iced beverages are all available with one push of a button when you use the Evoluo coffee brewer. You can even get the machine bundled with the Aeroccino 3 milk frother to create the ideal finish with all of your specialty beverages.

The Evoluo offers amazing pressure for a realistic espresso. Out of all the coffee systems on the VertuoLine, the Evoluo has the hottest water. Plus, we think it looks the best. It might not have a movable water reservoir, but it does have an extremely large water reservoir that has a maximum capacity of 54 ounces. The reservoir is also removal to make maintenance a breeze. The machine is slim, it does not take up much counter space, and it has a retro yet modern design.

To top everything off, the Evoluo has a much more sophisticated capsule storage than any of the other models. You can keep at least 17 used capsules inside the container before you need to change. The Evoluo also heats up super quickly. This allows you to have your favorite coffee within just a few seconds. VertuoPlus vs Evoluo

The Nespresso Evoluo vs VertuoLine can only have one winner – and it is definitely the Evoluo coffee maker. It’s simply a better machine. But the VertuoPlus is an upgraded version of the original VertuoLine “Vertuo” model, so let’s check out how these two seriously impressive coffee makers stand up in a battle against each other.

Nespresso VertuoPlus

Nespresso Vertuo Plus Coffee & Espresso Machinealso great

The Nespresso VertuoPlus is in direct competition with the Evoluo. These two machines are incredibly similar, both in terms of style and in terms of performance. The Evoluo is only a few dollars more expensive, making this a tough decision.

With the VertuoPlus, you get everything. This is a slim and stylish coffee maker with a flat-top design and a customizable water tank. That really is the big seller with the upgraded plus version. Rather than having the water tank sitting in place and being annoying, you can choose to switch it from the side to the back depending on what looks better in your kitchen.

Other than that, you get all the same features you know and love with this lineup of great coffee brewers. It’s a one-touch brewing system that’s easy for anyone to use, it comes equipped with automatic capsule ejection and capsule storage, and the lid opens and closes automatically, which is actually one of its distinctive features. It feels very futuristic.

It would be nice if the VertuoPlus came in more colors, but it does look very nice in gray. It can make five different cup sizes depending on your mood, and there’s actually an upgraded version of the Plus that comes with a 60-oz water reservoir. It can be super-sized! The bigger version has a slightly slower heating time than the other units, but it still heats up within 20 or 25 seconds. It then automatically shuts off after 9 minutes.

Just like the other units from the VertuoLine series, you get precision brewing, you can recycle your capsules with the Nespresso recycling program, and you get dedicated support from the company themselves.

Final Verdict

To say definitively which VertuoLine coffee machine is the best for you, it comes down to a few major things. First, do you care about the size of your water reservoir and do you care how hot your coffee is? If the answer is yes to both, you probably want to settle with the Nespresso Evoluo coffee maker.

The Evoluo coffee maker is really at the top of the game when it comes to all the products on the VertuoLine. If you were to vs the VertuoPlus and the Evoluo, it really is no contest. Both machines are basically identically, but for just a few extra dollars the Evoluo machine makes hotter coffee, has a larger capsule storage area, and it holds more water in the reservoir.

That said, the original “Vertuo” machine is hands down the best value for your dollar. If all the fancy features of the Evoluo coffee maker don’t interest you, the standard VertuoLine “Vertuo” machine is a perfectly good substitute. It’s way cheaper than the Evoluo, it makes the same quality coffee, and it works using the exact same quality capsules.
